Citations- Giving Credit to the Sources and Images You Use

If you use words from a source, you need to use it as a quote and cite it with the author’s name or the article title in parenthesis at the end of the sentence. Even images, need to be cited!
Example:
Cars and other types of transportation “are the leading source of air pollution in most industrial nations” (Henderson).
-
My writing: Cars and other types of transportation
-
Copied from source: “are the leading source of air pollution in most industrial nations”
-
Author of source: (Henderson)
Then, you make a list of all those sources on the Works Cited slide. Each source citation has a format you need to follow for the type of source it is. If you use a database like the ones I listed above, source citations are provided for you, but you’ll need to look for it (usually at the end of the article).
